I just finished a '65 Mustang restoration for my son-in-law. Don't boo me for mentioning a Ford. I agree with you guys and prefer GM muscle. It was a fun project including assembling a 363 stroker, AOD, Currie, Mike Maier suspension.
For the next project I'd like to build a Camaro or Firebird on a roadstershop chassis with probably a LS376 or LT1 with manual trans.
You advice on where to source the block, heads, rotating assembly, etc for the engine would be appreciated. I source the ford engine components from Fordstrokers and they select the compatible parts. I'm a good enough mechanic to build the engine but don't know enough to choose the correct combo of crank, pistons, cam, lifters, etc. You don't really save any $ assembling yourself but it's a fun project.
Thx for all the great info on this forum.
