Default First Time Caller, First Time Listener

Thank you for having me. I haven't been a member of an active forum board in over ten years. I'm certain I'll be back in the swing rhythm in short order. Until then, I preemptively ask for your patience.

I'm Bob, I am not a tomato, but I am here to help if I can. Professionally, I am a heavy equipment diesel tech with major focus in hydraulic, electrical, and air systems. I work for a crane rental and fabrication shop out of Menominee, Michigan. I've been turning wrench outside of the profession 32 years out of the 45 I've been privileged to experience (Dad had me holding the flashlight earlier than 13, and of course I never held it right). Personally, I have two kids (16 and 14, both men), one Wife (the capital is not a mistype, lest I sleep on the couch), two dogs, two guineas, two rabbits, ten cats (God help me), and one house paid for in just full. My computer case is a fish tank, filled with more food-grade baby oil than all of y'all nightstands combined, and cooled with a heater core from a '93 Blazer. To call me Hick is to understate the situation.

Most of my personal motor experience lies in Ford's Windsor and Modular platforms (T-Birds, Cougars, Fox bodies, and more P71 Panthers than I care to remember), but recently I acquired an '02 Silverado 1500 LS trim with the LM7 that I am absolutely in love with. Never showed any interest in the often-touted 'LS Swap' craze, did a few 3800 s2 SC swaps into two Fieros and an MG but never anything crazier, but now that I own one, the interest has increased by a factor of yes. It needs head gaskets (coolant bleed into cylinders 5 and 7, not severe enough to consistently misfire but enough to turn my exhaust white and sweet), and I see this as the perfect opportunity to swap in a mild chop cam and start playing with the fuel map. It's currently bone stock with 213K on the clock, so I know a full teardown is in the future, though the engine leaks precisely zero externally.

I hope to gain knowledge and helpful advice here, but if I can help in any way whatsoever I am here for that too. Thank you again for having me and I'll see you on the Boards!

Default Diesel @ 42,000 PSI

The diesel Ford V-8 Fuel Injector has an injection pressure of 42,000 PSI with a 7.1 intensifier inside.
I worked on this project.
I created the Military single-cylinder Deisel engine for use in the Modern Battle Field.
I was the FIRST to operate a Diesel engine on natural gas.
What are your Diesel Interests? (a Diesel LS?)

My diesel interests start and end with my work day. It doesn't spark my imagination outside of that (pun intended).
