Retired Navy and Prior to that 2 years Army. I have been around cars and machinery for over 50 years now. First time in LS waters and my project is a 1964 Buick Skylark (1st year of the GM A-bodies).
It is basically as Buick built it with the exception of the loss of the original engine years ago. The aluminum 300 V8 was replaced by the PO (and 2nd owner) decades ago with an Olds 455 and a TH400. I ran the # on the engine and it is a numbers matching to the same as what was run in a 1070 442.
Anyway, I have a Gen III 5.3 that is getting a stage 2 mild build, and will be mated up to a 4L80E that is getting massaged as I type this.
I am going with an Aldan American 4 wheel Coil-over, a 4-wheel disc conversion, Speedway Motors 9" Ford rear for a GM A-body w/ 3.70:1 posi. Sway bars F&R, LS swap radiator, Fuel Injection tank swap with 24 gal tank, stand alone EEC and harness, and blah-blah-blah.
I plan to redo the entire interior, but leave the exterior pretty much as-is.
I will be re-wiring the entire chassis as well. Fusebox-to-bulb.
Anyway, I hope to be able to contribute to the group
