A Studebaker Guy
I've been reading the forum for a while now and thought I better say hello. I have a 1953 Studebaker mild custom. Not much left that is still Studebaker, and what is has been modified in some way. Has a Chevy 350/350 combo and a narrowed 68 Nova subframe, and Ford 8" out of a Maverick.
You can see pics of the car at:

Or go to http://photos.yahoo.com/pat_dilling and look at the Studebaker album.
I have been thinking about changing the motor as it seems everyone has a Chevy 350, gave some thought to a 500 Caddy, but my narrowed subframe is a little too narrow without major mods. Recently I have been considering LS1, LS6, 6.0 Vortec as a possibility. This car is primarily a cruiser, so I would probably start off with a pretty much stock engine that would still pull some Gs when I romp on it. I would like to go with an overdrive automatic. I am a decent mechanic, but have not played with any of the new computer controlled or fuel injected cars. I hang around over at clubhotrod.com some but there is not much discussion about newer vehicles over there. The Swap forum here is real interesting to me. You may see me around asking questions, I want to say thanks already as you folks have been very informative so far. I feel smarter already!!

Have you ever heard of Ted Harbit? He's a big Studebaker guy here in Indiana. Has raced a Studebaker Hawk for years called the "Chicken Hawk". Here's a link to his site....
