Noob here Hey everyone,
First, a little about me. I'm active duty in the Coast Guard in Pt. Reyes, Ca. I have always been a big fan of f-bodies, but insurance would absolutely crush me. I have to admit, I am one of the "other guys". I own a ford truck. I know, Im sorry, it was simply a good deal.
Any how. My dad passed away when I was four. He left me a 1959 chevy pickup, apache 31 series. Its in ok condition, but needs some work. It still has the original 3-on-the-tree, clutch, and 287 ( i think) inline 6. I have the opportunity to purchase an LS1 from a wrecked ws6.
I am a huge fan of turbo's. I plan to drop in the ws6 wiring harness, ecu, tranny, ls1, etc, along with a ford 9" rear end with 3.55:1 or so gears. I have inquired with STS and some other vendors about working with a gt67 garrett turbo. Since it is a pre '73, it is pretty much anything goes.
Basically, I am hoping to find a great source of information on LS1 internals, and some upgrades. This is going to be a long-term project, so I want to line up all my ducks in a row.
