Welcome to the board! As one Cali-car owner to another, don't be turned off by these horrible smog laws. There's plenty that can be done to the LS1 and still have it blow clean on the sniffer test.

I have my smog hook-ups

But I still want to keep it smog legal...
Goal: 400rwhp - Cali Smog legal.

smog hookups are good, especially for the visual stuff (especially headers). As for me, I haven't gone headers yet and I'm still pulling just under 400rwhp. The car isn't blowing clean, but it's clean enough to pass the emissions test. If it's done right it will work just fine.
