Default New Guy

Hello,
Just wanted to introduce myself. Currently, I'm looking to buy a 98 or newer T/A. Don't really know much about these cars, as I've owned a 3rd Gen for the past 5 yrs and still do. As well as a few Mustangs and currently have one as a DD.
Anyways, seems that the LS1 is the way to go. While I prefer it for the performance, is it more reliable than an LT1 car? I hear the LT1 run into opti spark problems often which is a positive besides performance for getting an LS1. How about a '97 LT1 any improvement in the opti spark dept?
I'm going to check out a few LS1 cars over the weekend hopefully, but have found a good deal on a '97 TA 65k miles for $8k.

These engines have seen past the 200K mark with just regular maintenance and still running strong.

You could probably find a 98 LS1 car with comparable mileage for a comparable or better price. Gas prices are your bargaining friend.
IMO you'll be much happier going the LS1 route. These engines are just better all around.
Do some (more)research on the LS1 here as far as longevity and you'll agree.

Those are both nice birds. I guess you're leaning towards a T/A?
The inexpensive ls1 car you want is out there, just are you willing to go a little further to get it is the question. Here in El Paso, Tx I've personnally seen a 2001 Z28 with alot less miles going for 10G's. The 2001 SS on the same lot was going for 20G's with more miles. Go figure. The used car lot salesmen are stupid here.

I don't really care for the looks of the 4th Gen Camaros, though I prefer the 3rd Gen Camaros.

I found a really nice one in Dallas,TX where I will be heading this summer, but my Dad didn't want to help co-sign since I'd be buying a car I couldn't see in person.

It was really nice though '98 white with Torq Thrust II wheels, Ram Air II hood, auto with 94k, asking $8700

WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO SAY PAL??

j/k j/k Hey IMO you should get a WS6 LS1. They are the most badass looking cars ever and the performance is bar none one of the best bang for the buck deals out there! But at the same time you cant go wrong with the rock solid LT1. Good luck in your search!
