89 Formula

Hey everyone,

just picked up an 89 formula and am planning to work on it with my son. Don't know too much about fixing cars but am eager to learn. I heard this is the place to get your questions answered. Looking forward to it.

The color is bright red and the engine is 5.0 liter v-8.

The first question I have is about the back window. it does not seem to want to lock into position. The lock itself works fine but the mechanism doesn't seem to catch the latch. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Please tell me your car isn't a LO3 T.B.I., (Throttle body injection) The worst injection system ever. If it's a LG4 4bbl Carb'd motor you're in way better position and TPI (Tuned Port Injection) is good as well. As far as the rear hatch, the auto-pulldown motor is probably shot, happens in many thirdgens. A website that will probably be of more help to you would be http://thirdgen.org/techbb2/ Those forums are specifically for thirdgen (82-92 Camaro and Firebird) owners.
