Default Hello

My name is Garrett and I own a 59 Chevy Apache Suburban. My wife and I bought it around 16 months ago. If your interested in the whole story you can see it here. http://hesproductions.com/59sub.
I'm a recording/Live Audio Engineer and I live in the greater Nashville area. With 3 kids (14, 11, 9) there isn't much time to have a hobbie so this old truck has been a family affair whenever possible.
My next task is swapping in a 5.3 LS1. So I'm here to learn. I need to do it quickly and as cheaply as posible with the end result being a daily river I can drive across country.

Nice. Making an LS1 into a daily driver won't be that tough, power and fuel economy you can't beat, but why the 5.3?

The 5.3 is easier to find at salvage yards. I see them often on Ebay within 200 miles of my location. If a 5.7 comes along at the right price I would grab it. Gas mileage is very important as I want to drive this truck 60 miles a day.
