Well guys I'm a little new to the scene, having owned almost all BMW's since the get go.

1985 BMW 535is< My first Love, I will own another

1989 Nissan 300ZX Turbo......utter POS! Doesn't deserve pics.

1993 BMW 318is< No *****, but what a good car. Put 230K on this beast at 30mpg and she NEVER complained.

1997 BMW Z3< Only owned for 6 months, loved it....but needed more room. By far best handling CAR I have ever been in. So predictable.

And now for Utter blasphemy among my BMW brethren. 1998 Z28, T56, LS1. K&N intake<will load pics later. Flowmaster catback; it has a nice sound to it.

Now that I have your attention, I have but one ? When I really get on it I hear a knocking sound from what sound like behing the tranny. My friend said it was prolly from my suspension bottoming out and something to have to do with my axle. I am really at a loss and don't know where to begin to fix it. Please help.....oh and Hello to everyone I see some really nice cars out there. I hope to add to these forums.

Any noise that an F-body makes is "normal".. I'm sure you're not use to the wonderful GM quality that we are already use to..hahaha. Actually it might be the rear diff. Has the fluid been changed recently that you know of? It will start to sound like a box of rocks back there when its time for a fluid change.

M3's are killers on insurance. My Z28 was cheap. That and saving up for a M3 of that year would take me 2 years.

Rear diff eh'. I have no idea if it's been changed, so looks like i'm going to change it out.

More than likely it is your transmission mount. One end of the Tourqe arm mounts to the differential and the other slides into a rubber bushing in the transmission mount. It is very easy to check but what you are looking for is a rip or tear in the rubber transmission mount. Good luck and Congrads!

The tranny was rebuilt prior to my ownership, actually it's about 2 months old now. I would hope they would have caught that, since how it says on the ticket that they checked all mounts. Either way I wil inspect it prolly this weekend. In the meantime what type of rear in fluid do ya'll recommend. I know to buy the GM OEM additive, but what kind of fluid.....full synthetic or no? Brand?

Just visit your local GM dealership and give them your cars vin...they will give you the correct fluids. It depends on what rear end you have. And don't forget to ask for the gasket too!

You'll get used to the funny noises fast enough, and more will appear the longer you have the car . Now get rid of that flow master and through somethin better on

Actually the flowmaster sounds quite nice. I am happy with it at the moment. But I will change it prolly next year after I do headers to a spintech exhaust flowing through the SLP quad tips in the center.
