Default Ford Guy.

Just thought I'd see what was going on with all the new GM stuff.

I was behind a new GTO a couple days ago and realized that I know nothing about the new GTOs, Chargers, and what not so I thought I'd register over here and see what I could learn.

Hope to chat it up plenty with you guys!!!

@$#^#^$^$@#$@$@%#^#$

Charger is MOPAR, Mopar is Dodge/Plymouth/Chryser/Jeep/AMC... etc... I have a 440 Charger, so I know this stuff. And the new Charger doesnt even deserve to carry the name of the legend.

I'm not a big Mopar fan but I'll have to agree with you on the new Charger. The 440 was a real Charger!

F'n heck. I don't know why I always try to lump GM and Dodge together.

I know many Mopar enthusiasts, one being my dad, and they are totally waiting for the new Challenger. And yes, they agree with you on the Charger.

Dont worry about it brother!

You are not alone. For a FORD guy, I have made it well over here. I just know how to make the Ford motor beat up on these ls1's

by the way, that 6.1 is a BAD *** motor. Only an ingnorant person would tell you other wise. Compare the 6.1 to the 440 and the 6.1 will dust its ***..

Yes I was talking about the "new Charger" in general... And you are comparing 30+ year engines to brand new ones, engines that make this power almost as primatively (internal combustion wise) as possible... If you equip a 440 or a 426 Hemi with very little modern day technology, the 6.1 wont stand a chance. Besides, no new car will give you that feeling of riding in the real thing.

well I can argue this extremely well but I will not put effort into it. Anyways, glad seeing a broader range of people here on the board. Any pics of your charger?

Yeah I dont want to go into all that either... But yeah heres a pic from a few years back after the first buildup, the rims were just temporary at that point and was looking to get Cragars for it...

Took it to a few shows and then after some life stuff I decided to tear it completely apart and make it the car I really want... All that needs to be done now is finish the engine bay details and paint it, then the 440 can go in, etc...

Well, my current girlfriend (has wife potential down the road) does love the Camaro. So there is a good chance an LSx could be in my future...well her's anyway but it would be beside mine.
