newbie in alabama Im Kody. i bought a 1999 Trans Am about a month ago (pics below). i dont know too much about the LS1 motors so if i ask any stupid questions just disregaurd them. i was driving a 98 eclipse and 92 240sx before the TA so its a big step up and i havent done quite all my reading and learning on the LS1 motor yet. my TA is white with black american racing tq. thrust D's with a polished lip (custom painted by me), LS1 motorsports lid, SLP exhaust with cutout and no cats. planning on going for a heads/cam car. nice site. alot of good write ups and information.

i love the 30th anniv. TA's. theres 1 around here somewhere i see all the time. he wont race me. ive had a few good races soo far. few 350z's ive beat, 05 roush mustang i beat, my friends 01 Z28. only lost to a supercharged GTO and a 600hp c5 vette. i just have to learn this car and learn how to keep it from spinning as much. it has 4:11 gearing so from about 20 till 135 its fast then it kinda winds out. looking to get some 3:73's and a built 12 bolt soon. LS6 intake will be next month then buying my friends cam possibly next month also. heres a quick question that i cannot seem to get answered. what is the difference in a firehawk and a TA? probly a dumb question but like i said i juss entered the V8 world. from 140hp to 300+ is a big step

ya...i traded the eclipse for the s13 because i planned on drifting. 1st night i got the s13 it was raining. 1st time really driving a RWD and its raining in a car that i dont know how it handles. lets just say i stayed sideways more than i did straight on the way home. but i got to where i can control it and from that i can "drift" the TA. 1st night i got the TA it was raining to. came around a curve @ 50 and the rear came around and i hit the brakes and was sliding and all that was running through my head was "IVE ONLY HAD IT 3 HOURS!!!!"
You ought to start hanging out with some of the B'ham crew. There's a bunch of us Alabama boys on here, especially in the Southern Forum.
There's quite a few of us here in Montgomery also. Orange 'n Black, Greenfire, ele-blue95, myself, and black98 just to name a few. If you're ever gonna be down this way, give us a shout in the Southern Forum and meet up with us.
We're out at Montgomery Motorsports Park just about every weekend down here, so if you'd like to go out there, let us know that too.

yes i am on bhamracing.com (alabamaracingscene.net) as clipseracer incase your on there and if not then sign up! and i have been for about 2 years now. i have been to the bham races at sterilite in my eclipse i had. i lined up to race and fight broke out and a guy got a beer bottle broke over his head and a 04 stang GT got its 1/4 pannel punched in so i didnt get to race because every one was watching. i go to bham to visit my friend that is also on bhamracing and has a 1999 TA that he bought not too long ago. i think he is signed up on here but not sure. anyways the oxford LS1's and bham LS1's need to have a meet somewhere. there are a few around here that are my friends

ya i would like to but enterprise is a little too far for me to go for a drive in. if it was a major show i probly would. 1 thing i have learned is gas is very expensive in these cars. goin to nopi in sept. at atlanta motor speedway. if any one else is planning on goin ill see you there.

ill have alot more done to my car by that time because i work at our car club shop and i get major discounts so more than likely i will show. if for some reason i cant show i will still go anyways and take the TA
