Cool New to LS1/ Rear end conversion question

Howdy,
I just purchased my 2002 Pontiac WS6 TA last week. It was worth the wait. I got bit by the 'hot rod bug' about a month ago. I'm pleased with my selection so far. Has anyone done a late model Corvette rear end to a 4th generation F-body? If so, any advice? Thanks, Dave

Hmm well the vettes are independent rear so i dont think it would be a very easy swap or a very worthwhile swap. But maybe a search would yield some results. Welcome and good luck with the hot rod bug i cant wait to get back into it.

The transmision would have to be rearmount as a whole assembly With some fitting / welding it will work
I dont think its ever been tried before . Check for wrecked Corvettes

Found a thread in a different forum that addressed this idea. Do to engineering designs and such, the idea of going to IRS would not be feasible. Cost of modification can not be justified as well, when it can be spent on other performance goodies. )
