Welcome to the dark side!!!! (sorry to hear of your accident, i like the pony's too)

the pacesetters rust fairly quickly from under the coating,,,,i think due to the skinny gauge steel. there are others found on that famous auction site, kind of a no-name brand, but they are made with better, thicker stainless steel, so you wont have that rust problem a year later after installation. they do not come with a ORY,,,,there are other threads that go into alot of detail about them.

Congrats on your black SS,,very sharp cars,,,and if your anything like the rest of us on here,,,,it just gets more, and more addicting to mod these LS based engines.

What's a good steeped header? My search isn't working for some reason.. Also, what can you expect to pay for an install? Putting headers on my stang never even crossed my mind (wouldn't respond as well anyways I think).

Hmmm for stepped headers your going to have to look at either Kooks or Qtp's I believe, which are much more expensive. If your looking for a quality header with a larger than 1 3/4 primary you can also go with the new edlebrock ls1 headers which come in 17/8 primaries I believe. You should be able to do headers yourself as they are not that difficult, just need to have the right tools and take your time but my guess would be about $300-$400 to have them installed.

I recommend Texas-speed.com for any ls1 part you want. Their customer service is great. get a cam(kit for $600), headers in my sig($342 shipped), search for y pipe that fits(i have custom duals), ls6 intake($300 used), and get a dyno tune. that should bring you up to 390+rwhp.

Welcome to the site and congrats on the SS. Ls1's are amazing engines. Nothing against Fords though. I still plan on getting a 03-04 cobra soon to add to the garage. There are some really great sponsors here on the board so check'em out and have fun modding.

I have done 20+ header installs for the ATL peeps and 200.00 is the max. Dont spend a penny more than that! Welcolm to the LSX world! What part of Atlanta are you in?
