Finding this forum and all the great information sharing gave me the confidence to start an ambitious project--stuffing an all-aluminum 5.3 into a 1987 535iS BMW. The engine's out of an '05 Envoy (which means DOD, another challenge), the trans is out of an '00 Chevy pickup. Both are low miles and really clean. The package is now sitting on a test stand a couple of my gearhead buddies and I built some time ago. I've been mapping the wiring and all the pins on the bottom of the fuse panel. I'll start posting progress reports and pix soon. I want to make it run on the test stand first, then get the big shoe-horn and start stuffing.
