Default New to the site

I found this website when I websearched a trouble code that was tripping my SES light and found a very informative thread dealing with that exact DTC. The info I got here was instrumental in me repairing a system I previously knew absolutely nothing about and no doubt saving a good chunk of change in the process. I had always dreamed of owning a 4th gen F-body and two months ago I finally found my car. It's a dark green 1997 Firebird Formula. And if you are about to tell me, yes, I know this car has an LT1 and not an LS1. I tried to sign up at LT1tech.com but it didn't work. Besides, both engines obviously have a lot in common, plus this forum seems to get more use. I have only just begun to learn about what kinds of performance mods I can get for this car, but for now I am really happy with the car in stock form. After all, my previous cars were a 1991 Subaru Legacy, a 1990 Geo Prizm (1.6 liters!) and a 1997 Ford Escort. So as you can imagine, 285 hp and 325 pound/feet of torque is quite a blast for me, even though it's practically a Hyundai compared to some of the cars people here run. I'm sure this site will make a great resource for me to hopefully continue to do most of my own repairs on this car, and maybe eventually I can contribute some knowledge too. Cheers.

Welcome, congrats on the car. FYI, the LT1 and LS1, have next to nothing in common, except basic operation.
