Introduction to the Forum
Eventually, I would get my liscense and finally get my oppertunity to pick what car I wanted to become a part of my life... lol
I admit for long while I was fascinated with the Chevy Chevelle SS, partly.. or well mostly, because my Dad had owned and fixed up 2 in his younger days.. And I kinda wanted to inherit that tradition, and learn from his past experience and knowledge form working with the Chevelle.
But somewhere along the lines the ideal faded on me, and I decided I want something different and something that better suited me. My cousin who is a bit older than me has a 98 Mustang, and is somewhat a friendly rival.. as in.. we're always trying to out do each other.. And is on the Mustang Dynasty Band Wagon.. lol.. I mean I like Mustangs, but they aren't as great as they are proclaimed.. Just not my kinda car.. But I give them respect where it is due..
Long Story short.. I wanted a 60's or 70's muscle car that I could fix up and restore.. My car of choice was the 79' Pontiac Trans Am.. But under the influence of my parents, thought it best to buy a newer model car that in probably more dependable, better quality, and wouldnt be in need of repair. The car I had planned on picking up was a 1985 Camro Z28.. chevy 350.. automatic.. new paint.. nice car on the outside.. with.. interior that was fixable.. The day I plan on picking it up my parents suggest we go to the same old lots we'd been before one more time.. I didnt agree and was kinda dragged along.. Ended up finding a 98 Firebird.. Midnight Blue in color.. 150k miles.. excellent interior.. clean engine.. V6 automatic.. Needless to say the car caught my attention even before we pulled in.. I felt kinda drawn to it.. It's kind of hard to explain.. But I didnt think there was a chance in the world I would taking it home that same day.. My Dad smiled and asked me if I thought it was the car for me.. I knew it was but took into consideration that it wasnt the old body style and V8 that I wanted, but still had alot of potential to be made my own.. I accepted it, and well.. I recently put 2 brand new tires on it, and am planning to order a ram air hood and true dual exhaust by the end of the week.. I'll try to get up some pics a.s.a.p
