The town has given me a little respect for the difference in import performance enthusiasts and ricers. However I was born, have lived, and will die a bowtie man. I currently have two projects in motion.
1. 1984 chevy shortbed: 488 big block, sm465, np 205, dana 60/70 f/r, 13 inches of lift, 44 boggers, full lockers, hyd assist steering. Almost done just waiting on the steering hookup.
2 1972 chevy nova: currently getting the body work done, or more accurately waiting on the guy to start it. Plans include lq9/ 4l80e (already in garage) 9" minitubs engine management, and about 9-12 lbs. For the first build I am gonna try to do the lowball setup. Stock motor, with a simple management system. Trying to make 550 (cough cough) reliable rwhp as cheap as possible. Trying to make a nasty street car, not just a track car. Not all that concerned with the best et's just something realiable and respectable.
Before anyone tells me I am an idiot, yes I am aware that the things I said don't make a lot of sense, ie... cheap, fast, realiable. But that is just the type of guy I am. I grew up around truck/tractor pulling and dirt cirle track. The guys who were trying to make the most from the least. Feel free to flame/hate or throw in advice that you think I might be able to use on any of my projects. Thanks and nice to meet everyone, and props for haveing an awesome site.
Gary.
