Montana FNG
As I was about to say, sometime in June I came across a nice 1980 L48 4spd 'Vette for sale. As I did a bit of due diligance on the net, I came across another '80 Vette for sale with a LS1 conversion. That car was just so right, I knew it was something I wanted to do. But, that'll have to wait 'till I can build up a warchest.
I've always gravitated towards engine swaps and sleepers. In '82, I had one of the first 3rd Gen T/A's around. At exactly 12,004 (warrenty was now expired) miles, I yanked out that punny 305 and dropped in a nicely warmed up 350. It ran real good, but there was more to do. But like so many, I became a family man. Now the kids are gone/going-to-be-gone and I'm looking for some hot rodding again. So whatever I end up building, it'll be a car with a swapped-in Bow Tie powering it.
These days, I'm putt-ing around a an old XJ Cherokee for a DD. I have a '06 CC/SB Duramax that I use to tow my toyhauler and ATV's to the BigHorn Mtns to play. My wife drives an '02 VW Jetta TDI. So we have our share of diesels. My son is a WyoTech trained Diesel Mechanic at a large Volvo/Mack dealer and my daughter wants to go to a trade school to learn instrumentation (process controls).
I work as an operator in a large power plant complex in S.E. Montana. This is the third largest plant west of the Mississippi. Been here 25+ years. Grew up in the Central Valley (Modesto) of California and in the Bay Area, there. Came here after I left the Air force in '81
So there you go; background.
