Default thinkin about boosting my v6

sup yall...i have a 02 V6 red RS....has 50k on it and ive been thinkin about trading it in lately...just for the simple fact i want a faster car...i recently got a new job that pays me about 4 grand more a month that was i was previously making so i can afford pretty much anything up to about 80K but this is my first sports car and i don't want to get rid of it...pretty partial to it...i was watchin vids of various boosted cars on youtube thinking about what i want...ive seen 550hp 350zs, evos, supras, is300s...and i came across a few vids of cammed and boosted v6 camaros...and i was hooked.....

ANY info on where to get a turbo kit/best place to get the car built please let me know i don't want to get rid of my first sports car...xpecially since ive seen 400+ hp v6 camaros....

thanks guys

LOL ha ha, yeah until one of those turbo buick's embarrass you at the track. I don't think its a dumb idea. I knew this girl with a nitrous v-6 camaro that embarrassed allot of v-8 guys. Depends on where you are, but talk to as many tuners/shops in your area, get a plan going and really the sky and your wallet is the limit.

sounds like fun but you have to think, 400hp from a v8 is a lot more reliable and has a lot more unrealized potential than a boosted 6. just a thought.

might as well just upgrade the whole drivetrain from the motor to the rearend. ls1, t56, 9 inch. upgrade the hell out of the motor before you put it in, you can even boost it if you want. no point doing a v6 though unless you can't fit a v8 in your car.

I had a 98 v6 auto camaro. Just had an ls1, t56, 10 bolt put in for less than $5k. I was down the same road as you, just not with that much cash. You could easily get alot more power than just a turbo v6.

type a search in google for 3800 turbo - you will run into lot's of options..
there is a good turbo kit out there now for the n/a L36

I think the idea of doing some mods to your v6 is cool.

its *all* about what you like to drive..

i spend 10x's the time in my old - oldsmobile 88 than my f-body

Someone tell me how many hp. you need in a G/N with full interior to run 9.40 @ 140+ mph or better in the 1/4 mile?

I wish I could remember there is also a Blow rail V6 that is very respectable. I think your possibilities are endless. And the car also has a recognizable different sound.

I think the 3.8L V6 camaro 3800 Series II is deriven from the same motor that was in the turbo buicks. I may be misinformed, but that is what the car and driver guys were saying. Youtube it.

Having a boosted V6 might be cool but for my money I'd get a C6 Z06, then you have a super car platform STOCK, and If 500 horses isn't enough you can mod it to whatever you want. If you REALLY like your car then go for it but I'd start with a better platform. V6's with boost and nitrous can embarrass n/a V8's but not boosted and sprayed V8's. And you could always keep the car and swap an lsx. Any car is only as good as the foundation. just my $0.02

mattraypharbor, I hate to tell you this...but if you are saying that with the times in your signature you cannot be embarassed by a turbo V6, then I invite you to come on up to RT. 66 Raceway and make sure none of my tail lights are burnt out. Oh...and I will do it on street tires!
