Nice vids, DG! You are one drivin' **** and that Vette def. was too nasty for stock. Probably a sick cam and ported heads on that LS2. Heatsoak was a real bitch on that second run for you. I'm amazed that your car is right with that twin-screw car with you on your stock blower.

 

That vette was a z06, so with the mods listed for that car (full exhuast and a tune) seemed about right. When you factor ~126mph trap speed on the shelby, I'm suprised the vette didn't any more of a edge then it did. Good runs all around though!

Even if it was a plain C6 they are in the same price range.

I happen to frequent that highway and sometimes have my wife and baby in the car. If for some reason you happen to lose control while racing and I happen to be your unfortunate victim, and anything happens to my wife or baby riding in the car - I'll eat your liver after I take my revenge on your sorry ***. It wasn't until I became a parent a year ago that I realized that driving like a **** on a busy highway is just stupid beyond the pale so think before you start ripping on me and defending street racing. It's people like you that will end up ruining it for everyone when the cops start enforcing speed limits to the number, not to mention that you could kill someone.

 

You're right! The title of the vid even says it and it flew right passed me. That Z06 really moved out for minimal mods.

umm...this is a chevy board, right? Aren't you the one that is supposed to school me on chevy knowledge? The C6 Z06 comes with a 7.0L LS7 motor with 500bhp. This particular one has headers, and H pipe and a tune which puts down around 500rwhp (580bhp). And the sticker on my car was 45K, which is what I paid.

I trapped 126 before I did full exhaust on my car. That was with a cai, pulley and gears only. Now I have pulley, cai, gears and full exhaust. Not much more mods than the Z06.

 

Thank you for saying that. Even I was like WTF when I saw you guys talking about LS2's. The only chevy I own is a damn silverado.

But I do believe that your facts on the motor are slightly off. I think the published numbers are like 505bhp for the C6 Z06. And there is no way he got 80bhp out of an exhaust and tune, so I'll believe it when I see a dyno sheet.

 

Your shelby doesnt have much more mods but the Z has the weight advantage, which makes a NICE difference as you can see in the vid. Power to weight ratio is in the Vettes favor you gotta admit even if you have 50rwhp more in the GT500. However, Gabsolutely great runs, nice cars, and lets thank the camera guy for a nice job filming, usually vids like these have horrible quality with sound and the guy moving between shifts . Got to say one last thing, Im a Gm guy but that shelby is one sexy bitch...

 

c6 Zo6's put down (505bhp) 460 rwhp on a dyno give or take alittle. Now with full exhaust, intake, the rest of the little bolt ons and a nice tune, thats a VERY believeable 500rwhp. The only thing people are forgetteing is that the shelby weigh hundreds and hundreds of pounds more. You guys would be amazed at what a stock LS1 with 320hp does in lets say a barely 2000lb 1970 Datsun 240Z. It rips pple a new one every time, thats what
