NEW LS1 on the block
I recently purchased a 2001 bright rally red SLP SS with nice chrome ten spoke wheels. I love it. The torque, looks, and sound of it. This is the nicest car I ever had. Was thinking of getting a WS6 but could not find one. After 4 months of having it one of my axle bearing growls and the driver side window came loose from the regulator and to top it off my Check engine light came on today. I am planning to repair it myself. I understand LS1 are pretty dependable engines. What are the setbacks of an F-body can anyone tell me?

Welcome!
Setbacks: tire wear from all the power and the 10-bolt rear end braking, also from all the power. Mechanically not much else. Interior plastic is cheap, window motors, t-tops leak, etc etc.
You might says an LS1 car's weaknesses are direct results of its strengths (mechanically speaking of course).

I have owned three now and love them. they take mods very well but if you plan on making this a street strip car get you a rear end first.
