new dude Hello, names Keith. I bought a 2000 ws6. First time I stepped into one of these. My last sports car I owed was a 99 cobra, and I loved that car. I had a lot of fun dressin up the engine and body. It was nice, but I traded it in for an Infinity FX45. Thats been my ride for the last 2 years. Then my fiancee and I decided to get married in Feb, so I took the hit and sold it to get a cheaper ride. That brings me to the WS6. My brother has had multiple firebirds and I've always liked the style the car had, so I decided to try one out. I did a lot of looking. Then last month I found this one, its a 2000 black WS6 with 75000 miles, the lady wanted $12k. From what I've seen it seemed reasonable. Planned a day when my mechanic, buddy of mine, could drive down there with me to check it out, he owns 2002 WS6. The owner lives an hour and a half south of here. So we take the trip, test it out, liked it, bought it. On the way home, 40 min out of my town 3rd gear starts slippin, 15 min out 3rd gears gone. Pissed off drivin the highway home in second, 50mph at 4k rpm, burning gas. Called the bank to ask of any aftermarket, they said I had 7 days after purchase of the car to buy the warranty. Jumped on that, 2 years 24k miles cost 1300. Currently my car is in the shop getting the transmission rebuilt. Rocky start, but I think I'm over it, and ready to make the best out of it. Now I'm checkin out this forum among others, to find out the prefered exhaust, rims, ect. New to the LS1 so I might ask questions that might be common knowledge to most of you, but foreign to me. Thanx ahead of time.
