Howdy Howdy y'all.
I figured that it would be a really good idea if I joined up over here. I am looking at possibly picking up a 99 Z28 here in the next few days. I have been a Chevy guy from birth, started off driving a 1989 Beretta GT with more done to it than I care to admit. Well, since then I got a deal too good to pass up on a Convertible Mustang. Now, The Mustang has been a solid car, and the convertible has been a blast, but it's time to move back to my roots. I have met a few of y'all in person, and have never heard anything negative about this site.
So, is there anything I absolutely have to look for when I go to look at this Z? So far my list is..
Window motors
All fluids
Ask how much oil it burns if any (I know he runs Royal Purple in everything)
Motor mounts
Excessive gear whine
Also to make sure that it is the 853 head vs the 806/241.
I actually just rode in a Camaro for the first time less than a week ago, talk about a quick convincing myself I had to have one.
It has 116k, and is a A4. LMP, Coupe. The mod list isn't half bad either, but in lurking here all afternoon it seems as though there is not much love for SLP LTs?
Also, it is coming with some "Hp Tuning" stuff. Now, I don't know the first thing about that, I searched and didn't come up with anything, and didn't see anything in the FAQs that I looked at. I'm sure it's similar to the SCT / Diablo mess, but is it something I can do? or I need to have it done?
So, thats the important stuff. Now for the not so important. I'm a Junior at Texas A&M WHOOP!
