Greetings All
Hello everyone. My name is Tony, from WV.
I recently bought back the '86 IROC-Z I sold 12 years ago, less the engine. Saw it sitting along the road, stopped and talked the guy down to a grand.
The body is in next-to-perfect condition, with one small ding the size of a nickel in one door. Clear-coat peeled in a couple spots, paint peeled on rear bumper, faded on hood. But overall, no rust, no dents other than the small one.
The odometer reads 96,000 which is just 8,000 more miles on it than when I sold it 12 years ago. Exact same tires on it as when I sold it, still have ample tread, but severely cracked from dry-rot.
Interior carpet and seats stained up pretty bad, am going to look at new carpet and seats from something newer possibly.
This is my new (old) project, want to drop an ls2 and possible 6 speed tranny in (it does have the original 5 speed still in it), redo the interior, suspension, rear end. Was going to wait on the engine/tranny, but got the okay from the wife last evening to move forward with that part. HA.
Will post before and after pics as time passes.
Just introducing myself here, will begin with questions in the proper forums.

your 88 looks just like my 86... black with silver trim. mine sits high in the front as your picture appears, but not because it's coming off the line, because i'm in need of an engine! lol.

I am going to put a 406 in it,some skinny tires on the front of it and drag shocks it should pull the front wheels off the ground. My car has blue trim. Are you going to put a ls motor in your car?
