Newbie Looking for guidance
I currently have a complete AWD 6.0 engine and drivetrain on it's original rolling chassis from a 2005 Escalade.
I definitely want to install this set-up in either a G-body (I'm and Oldsmobile Guy) or an A-body. I haven't found the car yet.
I currently drive a 6.0 Escalade and love it so I can't wait to use this set-up in a car.
I have a few questions and hope I came to the right place to get the answers.
Can anyone tell me more about this engine? I know that it is referred to as an LQ9. What generation small block would my 6.0 be considered?
Can I use the tranny that is already mated to the 6.0? I was told I just have to install a tailpiece where the transfer case is.
Which install would be easier, the A-body or G-body.(I want to run A/C)
Looking fwd to the replies and sharing of info.
Thanks in advance

The big thing about your lq9, its is a cast iron block, not aluminum.
Off the top of my head, i know they have flat top pistons and have a 10:1 compression.
Where as the lq4 (other truck engine has around 9.5:1)

Looking for one to put into my car actually.
Can't really help you with your other questions, you might want to try searching in the conversion / hybrid forums. I think people have done the "g" body conversion, not sure on the "a"...
Thanks...
