New guy in IL Hello everyone. I'm new to LS1Tech but have been a member on thirdgen for a little over a year. I owned a 90 Camaro RS as my first car at 16 and at the urging of my Dad about 7 years ago I sold it. Have always loved F-bodies. Well it killed me not having one for 6 years so last year I bought an 89 RS Roller and then a 91 RS dd in December.
I have been thinking about doing an LSX swap in the roller and now have a golden opportunity to do so but in a different car. It seems that fate has stepped in. While looking for parts on a trip I actually found the Camaro that was my first car (the vin matches) in a junkyard up in Minnesota. Its in a bit of rough shape but after some body work and hopefully a wrecked 98-02 SS or Z-28 doner car (sorry to whoever wrecks it I know it sucks) I will have my LS setup. Engine, trans and rear all going in.
Plans are also for a full 4th gen fbody interior swap. Basically this will be a complete 4th gen car in a 3rd gen wrapper. Will be a long project seeing as after I get it fully restored I then have to petition the state to get the car re-titled. Also the car is in MN and I live in Illinois.(actually easier to work on it up there...long story)
