Way back in 05-06 I bought a used spec 2. I sent it to them and had it upgraded to the spec 3+. Basically just a new disc and upgraded the pressure plate. So fast forward 30K+ miles, tons and tons of abuse (from clutch kicks and drifting to launching on radials and flat shifting) all with about 400rwhp. The clutch started chattering a bit and started to slip really bad one day so I parked it.
I just assumed the clutch was toast, I definitely got my use out of it. Upon finally pulling the PP, a clutch spring fell out, it had broke and came out of the plate. The clutch material still has 68% life, according to measurements, so I went ahead and emailed SPEC about their warranty. I fully explained that I bought this thing years ago and abuse it heavily. Much to my surprise, SPEC rebuilt the broken part of the disc and shipped it back to me. All I paid for was shipping it to them. The best experience and customer service I have ever been a part of!! And now I can continue to beat on the same clutch for another 5 years
