Default Very bad experience with MTI.

"Wellingf" i read your post about mti and your situation was very very similar to mine. Anyways here is the story. I ordered a clear lid on June 12th. June 21st rolls around and still no lid. So i call them on june 21st and they tell me they are out of clear lids and they are on backorder. So i told him to switch my order to a plain black lid. He said it would be shipped out the same day. So june 27 comes and still no lid! So i call once again and for some reason it still hasn't shipped out? So he said he would overnight it to me since it was taking so long. So then JULY 3rd comes and i still don't have my frickin lid. I call once again And the guy says "we are out of clear lids" i said that i knew that and that i had previously switched my order to a black lid. He said "well it didn't get changed" and he would ship it out monday or wednesday because of the holiday. So i call back today and they told me it had been shipped out but they weren't for sure if it was shipped on monday or wednesday. And they couldnt provide me a tracking # for some odd reason. And it should be here early next week. So i haven't driven my car for an entire month b/c MTI can't ship me a frickin air lid. After this i will NEVER do business with them again. I just hope it shows up monday

Well my lid FINALLY showed up today, but guess what? They failed to send me a gasket with the lid and there is no hole in the lid to place my IAT sensor into. I hope the POS doesnt crack when i drill it. Thanks MTI for taking a month to send me a piece of **** air lid.

No way. Im tired of talking to them. i just drilled my own hole and bought some weather stripping to use for a gasket. And the fitment of the lid is terrible to say the least.

My Mti clear airlid didnt come with a gasket. The fit was sucky at best. I paid 160 bucks for this thing. I have a used whisper air lid waiting to go on my ride when the tabs on the clear lid bust off......

Lids do not come with gaskets. They are designed to fit snug around the end of the MAF, and the air filter has its own gasket around the top of it.

It should have had the IAT hole drilled though, and you are supposed to re-use the rubber seal on your factory airbox to install the IAT sensor.

I ordered an mti clear lid about a year ago and it came with a gasket and the IAT hole was drilled. The lid broke thats why i had to get a new one.

The gasket usually comes with the filter, not the lid. Older designs had foam gaskets, but later models got rid of it.
