Thumbs down no good on TEXAS SPEED!

thumbs down for texas speed! i ordered a motor (408 nothing special) from them and was told it would be 3 weeks. it took almost 8 to get it to my door. then parts i ordered, that were in stock, trickled in as i was putting the motor in. i had to keep calling again and again waiting on the phone 1\2hr a pop. there phones were always buzy.my mail tune, i sent my computer in 1 week after i ordered the motor and it didn't come till 2 weeks after my motor arrived. then i had problems with their mail tune they did for their motor! i had to buy an hp tuner to get it running properly.jason did point me in the right direction. once i got it running right, the car was using tons of oil, here there was a hole in the intake where it was milled to close on the port job. they did stand buy the mistake, but it has been over a month to get the new head and i still don't have it! WTF i purchased $10,000 in parts off them, and recieved little help. i will continue posting feedback and if things inprove i will gladly post it, but as of right now it hasn't been a good experience!

I'm taking a wild guess just by looking at the location, but I'm thinking this is Charlie Waterson???

You are absolutely ridiculous! I'm pretty sure you bought this motor almost, if not a full year ago! Now you're posting on here acting like it was yesterday. We have ALWAYS gone out of your way to help you with YOUR problems with the motor from day one! The reason you had oil problems at first was due to YOU not putting a PCV/breathing system on the motor! You can't expect the rings to seat properly when the crankcase can't breath! You can't expect the tune to be perfect when that is going on either! We didn't install the motor. It isn't our fault that you didn't ask until after the motor had issues. We have to assume that the installer knows what they are doing. It isn't our fault that you wanted to purchase a tuning software either. We can't see what is going on when the motor is 1000 miles away.

I'm sorry you had a head problem. Like anyone else with a bad head, we are replacing it no questions asked. EVEN IF IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY BECAUSE IT IS A YEAR OLD! We have given you EVERYTHING you have asked for. Jason even bought a NEW 6.0L head from Scoggin Dickey just so you wouldn't have to wait for our shipment of castings to arrive! You act like we haven't done anything from you. What do we have to do to make you happy? You even got upset with Jason b/c I didn't leave you my person phone number when I left TSP last fall! Why on Earth would I do that? I didn't leave any customers my personal number including the ones I am friends with and I like!

As for getting in touch with us, yes we can be difficult to get in touch with. But I will say that everytime you have called we have tried help you in anyway we can. No one has ever been short or rude to you, which is more than I can say for you. (I got the WTF! you left on the answering machine.) Also, if you can't get through on the phone, just like my signature on here has said for 6 months, shoot me a PM and I will call you!

I'm not posting this to be rude. I'm simply trying to show how ridiculous you have been over the past year I have been dealing with you. We are trying to do everything in our power to help you get everything lined out whether it be your doing or ours. We always make sure our customers are happy. There are 1000's of customers on here that will confirm that. If you want to discuss this further, give me a call monday morning or shoot me your number and you will be the first call I make when I get in the office.

i am glad to see i got ur attention! i don't think anything i said was untrue or ridiculous! i never gave a date on my motor purchase. i can if u like, i have all the paperwork. when i ordered it when i recieved it, and when i recieved my last parts from u. just say the word and i'll post it, or pm it too u. the oil problems never cam from my pcv system! it was installed just the way it came from the factory. i pluged the valley cover tube, that was the only difference. ls1 blocks don't have that breather at all! the motor was running crappy cuz of a mass air code, and all the oil it was burning due to the bad head.

texas speed is replacing my head(i am greatful, and i stated they were standing behind it in my original post) the only problem i had was i was told right away and it has been a month! (same with the motor build, i was told 3 weeks and it was almost 8!) i would have bought a new set by now. i keep missing car cruzes and shows cause i can't drive my car with no head! Jason bought me a new head.......thats great he told me he would have them in 2 weeks ago.......all i need is the truth!

as far as my motor being out of warranty....it was almost out of warranty b/f i got all my parts i ordered!(30 day warranty) i told u of this problem within 1 month of recieving my last part! i was told to address the pcv system, witch i did and it didn't correct the problem. it started to snow up here so i was out of time last winter. and i never got upset u didn't leave a personal # thats crazy! i did get upset when i sent spark plugs down last year to show # 2 plug and someone lost them!!!!!!! u saw them but no one else did, and i simply asked Jason if he could call u and see where u put them!!!!!!!!!!! i was short and rude about that!!! u left everything hanging with me having problems and didn't relay any of this info to anyone (at texas speed), so i had to start all over explaining my problems.

i have been short a # of times, but only when i order something and ask how long, ur responce is 2 weeks, after a month i start to loose my patience! i'm sorry. texas speed personal have been profesonal with me! this post that Jon left was not however. writing my name? thats the only ridiculous thing about this post. what if u were wrong, i am not the only one who had a bad head! taking care of the problems, and addressing all the things i stated, would have been the best aproch! u didn't address any of my complaints, u simply tryed to make me look dumb!

i will pm u my phone #. i have given it to u a dozen times, i would think it would be on file maybe?????????if i walk into advanced auto and tell them my name they have all my info........i only gave it to them 1 time.

like i said b\f as soon as i get my head and it is working properly, and the motor is running good i will post it. i will also give texas speed a thumbs up at that point! right now i stand by everything i said.

I did post your name b/c I was very confident it was you. There haven't been that many people with a problem. You don't seem to understand that we don't produce the castings. Without castings we can not port them. I have heard Jason tell you this repeatedly. We only pass along the information we are supplied with from our suppliers. If they say we will have castings in a week, then that is what we tell you. Posting on the internet doesn't change that. If it makes you feel better that you got a reply to your post, then I'm glad you feel better. It doesn't change anything about how fast or how hard we are working to get you another head.

I can tell you one thing for sure, I didn't leave anything up in the air when I left. I am best friends with Jason and Trevor and they had my number if they needed it. I know you were upset about it b/c I got the phonecall about it from them. I talked with the guys practically everyday while I was gone. Acting like I somehow lost info. about you or your motor is untrue.

I do have your number at work. I am out of town this weekend so I don't have it on me. I'm not going to beat a dead horse in this thread. I will give you a call on monday when I get back.

look at the end of jon's first post, and his last post!!!!!!! pm me ur # and u will be the first person i calls monday morning. well i did that and he never called! i had to call him at 5pm. i asked why he didn't call me, and he said "we were discussing what to do." about what i asked........he said tsp was concidering sending back my old head. really.......the one ur machine shop milled a hole into where the rockers r. nice, just cuz i stated all facts on a negative post. what a great company to deal with. i will NEVER do business with Walmart, oops i mean texas speed again, and i hope all who read this use extreme caution! they sell u something then turn there back on u!!!!!!!! i have all the paper work, shipping slips, and saved e-mails to back up all i have stated! everything i have said is 100% true.
to responed to jon's last post.....he absolutly lost my spark plugs i sent down the first time i sent them last august. after he left i talked to jason about this problem and he acted like he didn't know what i was talking about. thats whan i asked him if he could call jon to see what happen to them! somehow (how stupid it sounds) that's what jon interpreted as i wanted his personal #. what a joke.

I guess I'll post my other post in here also.... --->

Charlie,

You continue to show your true class by tossing profanities at my employees & calling me a liar in emails.

Here's the bottom line: I replaced the cylinder head for you with a brand new casting even though you are WAY out of warranty.

If for any reason you've decided that the brand new cylinder head built for you WAY over warranty isn't good enough for you shoot me a email & I'll have it picked up by UPS.

We've always worked really hard to go above & beyond what needs to be done for the customer. Replacing a cylinder after it's way past warranty is a perfect example of that.

I purchased that cylinder head brand new from Scoggin Dickey, ported it, assembled it & shipped it to you free of charge! That doesn't seem like to bad of a deal to me for a part that was over a year out of warranty...

At this point, lets just agree to disagree. I know that it is impossible to make you happy because you constantly want something for nothing. You aren't going to post on here trying to blackmail us into giving you another dime. It's all hearsay, and it should have been ended after you called and cussed us out over the phone. We have replaced your out-of-warranty head for free, and it's not good enough. You have been beyond rude from the beginning. After realizing that there is no pleasing you, this is where the giving will stop. We will NOT be called liars nor will we try explain any half-truths posted on this or any other board. You did receive all the paperwork with your motor, and in that paperwork you will find that any and all warranties have now expired. That being known, we will no longer do any business with you. It is best that we cut all ties and go our separate ways. No need to call, PM, or e-mail as there is nothing else to be said between us. No TSP employee will be responding any further to this matter. Best of luck to you in your future endeavors.

This thread was locked for numerous reasons but the first is how far out from time of purchase to date of post.
This is a year old issue it simply has no merit.

An example would be if anyone took an out of warranty 99' SS to a dealership and wanted them to fix the tranny. They would be handed a piece of paper with an estimate of what it would cost and won't cover it under any warranty what-so-ever. They will state they take credit cards, debit and cash for the repairs and will stand there to stare you down while rambling goes on how it should be under warranty because they built it and sold it. Trust me, they won't budge. You'd be lucky to get a smile for free from them.

A mail order tune isn't dead on - it will be damn close but not 100% perfect out of the box. It will save money for a full tune from a local shop down the road but it doesn't take in how you drive the car and any mods, minor or major you do after you get it.

Last but not least - when is a 408 that is getting built "nothing special"? When did SD start putting heads in LS's as a stock build? It isn't stock for the fbody you have and there are a ton of little things to address when dropping one in. Do you drop it in, bolt it down and drive? If you do...step away from the car and let a professional shop do the work for you.
