Performabuilt Transmission
Performabuilt Transmission I drive a 2006 GTO that's putting down about 480rwhp. The transmission was completely stock, and ended up missing a 1-2shift..which can be seen here.
Tranny Missing 1-2 shift
I wasn't even going to waste my time with a tranny that couldn't do the job, so I started hunting for a good replacement. Naturally I took the time, read forums, found a lot of good companies making good tranmissions. The problem with most of them is they wanted me to send them my transmission and have it rebuilt, then they would send it back to me. This car is my daily driver, and I really didn't want to part with it for two weeks or more waiting for a transmission to go through a bunch of shipping and building. Well Peformabuilt had the answer, they keep transmissions in stock, ready to ship, and ask for no core in return. To top it off they offer free shipping and a free transmission cooler! I started looking around for people running Performabuilt trannies and saw that there are quite a few running 10's on them, and even some heavy GTO's like me running 10's on them.
So I ordered it, they shipped it very quickly, the packaging was excellent, and the product looked great. I had to wait awhile to get my yank convertor...but after I finally got it, everything went in. Let me say this transmission impresses me more everyday. I thought the stock one shifted good enough, but this transmission just shows me what an Automatic is really capable of.
I look forward to getting some track time and video with it once the summer rains go away.
