Rear defroster timer?

Rear defroster timer? How long does your rear defroster stay on? My old monte (99) went off after like 10 minutes. My 06 stays on all the way to work. At least 20 minutes. Does it shut off after a certain time? Thanks.

yeah, same here... mine doesn't turn off after 10 minutes either, like in my other cars I've had...

mine stays on for a long time also, but only when driving. it goes off in about 10 min if just parked.
Here is a quote from the manual
Rear Window Defogger
The rear window defogger uses a warming grid to
remove fog from the rear window.
<: The rear window defogger will turn off automatically
after it has been activated. The duration the rear window
defogger is on will be longer if the vehicle is being driven.
The defogger can also be turned off by pressing the
button again or by turning off the engine.
If your vehicle has heated outside rearview mirrors, the
mirrors will heat to help clear fog or frost from the
surface of the mirror when the rear window defog button
is pressed.
Notice: Do not use anything sharp on the inside
of the rear window. If you do, you could cut or
damage the warming grid, and the repairs would
not be covered by your warranty. Do not attach
a temporary vehicle license, tape, a decal or
anything similar to the defogger grid.
