Well if that part failure can be attributed to that aftermarket piece, then yes. It's hell to go through but its the Mangusson-Moss Warranty Act that is always protector of enthusiasts in these situations.

ok, the tune, cai, exhaust increased the horsepower and torque of the engine and therfore caused the transmission failure because it exceeded the rated capacity.

and not to mention the changes in shift points caused the transmission to shift at a higher power curve. what kind of proof do you think dealerships need?

So if you put on a performance exhaust raising the hp and your tranny ***** out, it is not covered by warrenty? Dont think so.

The Acts basically states that you can porperly install aftermarket parts that is compatible with the original manaufacturer's specifications (i.e. oil, filters, tune-up parts, shocks etc. Headers, a performance Tune , Catless pipes do not meet specifications and given a %@#hole dealer, they can void warranty on a given drivetrain part. However, most likely a dealer cannot deny warranty on a air conditioner because of a performance tune, but they can deny a busted transmission or a burnt piston.

Cheap insurance and very important to help the tranny and no warranty issues are a trans-cooler (GM makes one specifically for your car P/N 19129783) and an aluminum finned tranny pan.

Default 08 ss slipping transmission

this is just another thing with this car, which I happen to love....my husband is telling me that once they "slip", they are basically "done". Can anyone tell me what if anything can be done?
