Best Radar Detector?
You can't go wrong with the V1 or the Escort, I chose the Escort because I thought the V1 was BIG and UGLY, just my opinion though.
This is a good review:

For under $200.00 this thing is a good detector. Although yesterday I saw a cop do a laser point at a car and it didn't pick it up.

How do you plug the unit in? I didnt want to go and fork out another 30 bucks for the hardwire kit, so i just un coiled the cord and ran it in the dash down the door under the steering panel into the whole of the lower compart below the radio. I then just plg it in when i need it. You only see about 3 inches of the wire which goes from the dash to the unit..
That said, I think you're 965 is performing as it should.

I am DEFINITELY finding more K-band in the area...places that make no sense. Must be picking up motion sensors from people's home alarms, from what I can tell.
1. Leaving them in direct sunlight kills the laser detection and life of the unit.
2. New toyotas have laser assisted cruise control. Get one of them behind you and it'll beep forever.
3. Airport glide scopes will set off laser.
4. Ohio Highway Patrol still uses X band knowing that many radar detectors are turned off (city mode).
