slow/weak rolling idle?
slow/weak rolling idle? I'm not 100% sure if that's what it's called, but I'm referring to when the car is in Drive and you just let the car roll by itself without any throttle. I believe I saw somewhere before someone else mention this, I'm not sure.
But do our cars have an unusually slow or weak rolling idle? on slight inclines or on a driveway I need to give it a decent amount of gas just to get up it. of if I'm at a red light and the road is slightly inclined backwards, I can keep the car in place with my foot off the brake, or sometimes if it's steep enough, the car will roll backwards even, like I've got a manual. is there a reason for this? also would it be bad letting the car roll back or stay in place while off the brakes?

Mine used to do that, I'm not 100% is it still does, I don't pay that much attention to it. I'm guessing that with our stock idle being around 600 - 650 that just is not enough umph, to keep it still. I also think that on a steep incline any auto will roll back, it's just the nature of the auto. Also since we are geared so high from the factory that is why you have to give her as much gas as you do to get her rolling.
well I'm using my mom's 4 banger Altima as a reference, now I know that car idles at a higher RPM, so maybe that has something to do with it. but at idle, it rolls much faster and much harder than my car does.
and I don't really mean that steep of a incline in order for my car to not move or roll backwards, on those same inclines in the Altima the car would still roll forwards.

^truth...people always tell me they want to change out our stall and go with a different one (higher I guess) to bring out a different powerband.
