I was looking at a 2004 GTO well I'm on vacation here in Alberta, and I have been looking in the Auto Trader....an 04 GTO with 46K caught my eye, so I called the dealer and they will only give me $18,000 for my 08 GXP with 34K....I don't think its worth it, my payments is 551 a month and the gto will be 630-700 a month for a 5year old car.
wtf? im paying 330 a month for 4 years on my 06 impala ss.. how much is this 04 gto? if its more than 17k all stock then its deff not worth it for an 04...
ONLY 18k for ur gxp?? lol my car is probably worth 11k right now with 41k miles.. bought it a year ago for 16k with 30k miles..
list more info on the goat... not sure ur getting the best bang for ur buck..

the 04 gto is not an upgrade in comparison to your car, I had an 04 gto/6 speed before i purchased my monte. I like the monte alot more. the gto has it own set of issues especially tire wear allignment problems and massive wheel hop.

04 is the ls1 no hood scoops and the exhaust exits on one side. 05-06 is the ls2 and has the dual hood scoops and the dual exhaust exiting on both sides of the car. performance is pretty similar though. mostly appearance and a small horse power increase.

The '05+ has a higher compression 6.0L LS2 vs. the 5.7L LS1. The '04 has 350HP and 365 ft-lbs torque, the '05+ has 400hp and 400 ft lbs torque. Should perform a lot better then the '04.
when i fisrt got my GXP, i took it to the track that next week (to break it in ah.. ha..) and there was an all stock 04 gto running 14.28's @ 100 mph. i rember that day well, cause i was hitting 14.0's with a few 13.9's @ 99 mph. We were both getting 2.0 60 ft times. Alot of people were checking out my car and were surprised to see that it had a V8 and a few people thought that i put the engine in there. Your car is a better all purpose car, plus its cheaper. Use the money that you'll be saving for some mods.
