How many Qts of oil is in our cars?

Thanks Guys changing the oil for the 2 time first time was the dealer now it will be me from
now on I hate someone working on my car I don't trust those parts changers.
There is no true mechanics out there.

Not to say anyone is wrong, because 6qts is correct. However I have had several occasions where my GXP needed 6.25 - 6.50qts to meet the full line on the dipstick. Pick up seven quarts to be safe. Worst case scenario, you have some oil to top off with between oil changes.

I should also mention that I am **** and being within the operating range isn't good enough for me.

I bought and extra 5 qt jug and slowly filled to line perfect.

very true if u want all the hatch marks covered it will take a little more than 6

Mel,

Mine has always took 6.5 quarts for it to be full. I have a GXP though.

Go to your oil life and hold the check button. It will reset it.

Same here, usually 6.5 to get it topped off. 6 quarts usually nets me somewhere just above the bottom hole.

My Silverado only holds 6qts
