my buddy has a 07 monte carlo ss and wants to remove his resonator and mufflers and have pipe welded in place he does not have the car tuned will this throw the engine light i have no idea cause mine was tuned when i did my exhaust and will this cause him to loose any power he only has a intake and tb spacer?

thats what i told him but he heard ir you gut both mufflers and the resonator the light goes on by some guy with a gxp

I removed my res and cat that's why I have thrown codes. Removing res and muffs won't throw codes, but it'll be loud, some cops may hassle you. Shouldn't any power, but I recommend throwing on an electric cutout instead of chopping off the res and muffs.

 

i agree with JP on this....if there is anytime you dont want it loud (only time for me is when im hungover) you can close it. makes it nice having both options.
