That sounds great, I like it.

 

To be honest, I think you should just go with the first twelve to sign up and call it a day, or calendar in this case. Too few are really going to participate in any sort of real vote this late in the game. If you need a photo, I'll throw one of mine in the running, but I don't need to buy a calendar since we have a thing going on right now at NAIOA.

Here's my suggestion: Do whatever the hell you want right now...but start picking "LS4 of the Month" come January . One person should accept all emailed photo nominations on a running, monthly basis (i.e. accept new photos all year round) and post them to a photobucket album.

On or around the 24th of every month (leaves about a week to choose a winner), post a "LS4 of the Month - [enter month/year] - Vote!" thread with a link to all photos. Members can then vote and choose the best photo of the month, and that person gets a spot in the 2011 LS4 calendar for that given month.

You can limit it to the "Committee Chairperson's" discretion on how many are in the running in any particular month, such as having the Chair choose their idea of the top 5 photos submitted to date, and having the rest of the membership vote from those 5. It puts the onus on someone to be unbiased, yet firm in their decisions on which get chosen to be voted on in any given month.

OR!!! Choose 5 and pick from those 5 for January. The losers take a month off, allowing 5 new photos to be in the running for Feb. That way the same photos aren't being voted on every month, which will make members try to submit newer, better photos on a regular basis.


Thoughts? At NAIOA, the mods and admin choose the winner every month, because there are some members that like to be vindictive and/or generally childish, causing issues with the vote. Since we don't have mods or admin here, we're sort of limited to the popular vote...which may or may not turn out well, but for the most part, I think we have a decent group of ADULTS here that can appreciate automotive beauty.
