Question 2K6 Impala SS 6 Disc Changer Issue

OK SO I FOUND SOME OLD CD'S (CD-R) I HAVENT LISTEN TO IN
ABOUT 5-6 YEARS..... I PLACE ONE IN THE DISC CHANGER AND IT
DDIN WANTED TO READ IT.... IT SAID "ERROR: NO PLAYLIST ON DISC"
OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT. U LIKE LIKE WHEN A CD PALYER CANT READ A
CD??? SO I TOOK IT OUT AND PUT A REGULAR STORE BOUGHT CD IN PLAYER
AND NOW IT WIOLL NOT PLAY ANYTHING SO WHAT DO I DO???
IS THERE SOME KIND OF RESET BUTTON TO REPROGRAM DISC CHARGER OR WHAT???
ANY ADVICE WOULD BE HELPFUL.....

The only thing I can think of is pulling the battery cable and stepping on the brake to discharge everything, then reattaching the battery.

The same thing happened to me with CD-R discs, it took a while to read so I got frustrated and stopped. The next time I tried to play it, it worked fine and it did so every time after that. Luckily for me it kept reading store bought CD's :-)

My CD play is pretty tempermental when its cold out. some cds it will play, others it wont. Doesn't matter if they are CD-Rs or not.
