Default Cai dimentions

im designing a new and improved intake right now and was wondering if anybody would be kind enough to get the Cold air inductions airbox dimentions to me on a small sketch that would rock when im done ill list the parts needed and whatnot to make the complete intake then ill be using the lazer cutter at school to complete the airbox portion (i can make a couple if people really like it)

as of right now im addressing two problems with the new intake

problems
1. the heat soak experienced by the MAF
2. the inadequate filter area with the stock airbox

in addition i am concerning myself with reducing turbulence into the MAF because i believe it has a huge impact on these cars

also
im planning on this system to use a panel filter for a straighter shot into the intake (for those with removed or ported headlights) any other ideas would be awesome you should be seeing renderings of it sometime before the tenth of jan

thanks,

Paul

I'm excited about the renderings. More CAD work?

"Inadequate filter area with the stock airbox." Interesting...we run an intercooled Magnuson blower on an LS1 GTO my son's godfather drives equipped with AFR heads and a 218/218 cam, and the Magnuson kit came with a K&N panel filter for the stock airbox which is still used. At 508 RWHP and 120+ trap speeds, it seems to run okay. It's not the most wonderful airbox we've ever seen, but it isn't horrible. Just sayin'.

I were to do it over again I would be inclined to get one of those true fenderwell intakes (the ones that require the fender brace to be removed), and run the FWI intake tube through a "surgically altered by Dremel" stock airbox to cover it all up.

I know *hope* you're posting via mobile, but damn, Paul....use some punctuation and a capital letter once in a while.

Just because you CAN run that much power through it doesn't mean it's not a bottle neck restricting the potential of the setup.
