DIY!!Bulb repacement for heater control unit!!!
Ok so I just got my Gxp and it had 3 bulbs out in the heater control unit. If any of you have had the unit apart you know the bulb are soldered in, and the dealer doesn't offer a replacement bulb. Just the whole unit at a cool $360 . these bulb weren't that important to me so I thought I would try to replace them myself. go to Radio Shack and get bulbs 272-1154. These bulbs a bit smaller than the factory bulbs but I promise they work just fine. you'll also need some de-solder wick(aka chem. wick) and a solder iron. There is a total of 4 bulbs that you can use the new bulbs on. There are more bulb than this but I have yet to fine a replacement that will work. I don't have any pictures yet but when I get home I will get some posted. Also you do not need to be a pro in soldering to do the I am by no means a pro and all my stuff still works fine.
