I will try one more time. Ignoring the fact that the nominal inner pipe diameter is less than the stated value due to wall thickness. Yes, if you could fit two 2.5" pipes then you would gain 38% more cross-sectional area over a single 3" pipe. That is a minimum of 5" x 2.5" x "length after X-pipe)" of required space if you have them touching each other. Good luck getting them in there. If you could somehow squeeze dual 2" pipes into the space available, then you would lose 12% cross-sectional area over a single 3" pipe. With that, or anything smaller, my assertions are correct. Dual 2.5 inch pipes is not at all like running a single 5 inch pipe. Matter of fact, the 5" would have twice as much flow area (ignoring frictional losses) as twin 2.5" pipes (or four times as big as a single 2.5" pipe).

Ok so I will try this one more time, ignoring the fact that I have the headers in my hands and can measure things. The y-pipe is over 5” in width, and I’m sure there is at least 1/2" more clearance to fit the x-pipe with a 2 1/2" I.D. piping. Please stop pissing on my thread I didn’t ask for opinions I ask if anyone would be interested in having this done.
I called Nick today about my whistle noise from my headers, Nick told me that one of you called him yesterday about true duals (Hauling LS4 GXP)??? he said they might make the set up for it.
that would be bad *** if he made a set up for it. and also by him saying that does he mean another set of headers?

ok..out the side??? like a stock car? That would cut down on the weight. but you would lose clearance big time!
If you were going outback with it..that is a lot more metal now under your car.
The truth is..it probably would not give you anything really. I mean go for it if you have the cash to toss at a project..
actually there is a guy on that forum Old gregg..he would of mirrored what I said. I was an F Body guy for 15 years and had that one pipe..most went bigger 3" pipe. And actually the first original SLP cars both the birds and the Camaro's had single exhaust running out back. to the Z28's duals.
