ran a bone stock G8 GT and won???
ok so i was just cruising in town with my cutout open on my way to drop some rented movies off, this white G8 GT with dark tinted windows pulls next to me and stays side by for a while than just guns it. i give it a little gas and follow him to the highway, we do form a 70 mph roll and he pulls about 2 cars on me. we get off the highway and get on a country (paved) road and he stops so i pull next to him, he honks 3 times and we launch, its dead even till top end of my 1st gear i pull a fender then he pulls dead even till top end of my 2nd then i pull and his nose was at the end of my car, then at 130 ish i was about a car length so i pull infront of him. ok first off i was by myself, second he had a passenger with him and had some stuff in the back seat. also i did some research and found curb wieght for the gt's are 4098lbs as our gxps are 3600lbs also i have my cutout adds a little top end, maybe a driver mod??? any input on if this is possible lol also i modded my stock intake. i thought i was gonna get walked, also y did he pull from a 70 mph roll and not from a stop? also i used tap the whole time and shifted at 5900ish so maybe out revved him in my gears, not sure never ridin in a G8, and im positive it was a GT, i talked to him afterwards, he was pretty cool.

All I can say is I came out of a modded GXP and my G8 was quicker seat of the pants all day. Nothing against you or your car but I would say driver error on his part. Maybe he had it in manual mode and shifted early or something. I had just a Vararam and tune on my car and raced a modded 01 bullitt mustang and had him by about half a car. Each race is different and without being at the track with time slips and ****, who knows.

Good win. I don't think my MCSS feels like it would be even that close to my G8 but my GXP feels pretty quick for a tank. I think curb weight is listed at 3950 for the gt and just over 4k for the GXP.

That's what should have happened I've beaten a few stock GTs (REALLY embarassed a couple of V6s...), now once they're tuned and stuff, it's game over.
When my step-dad's GT was stock it 'felt' faster because it was a 6-speed, but on 25 and 40 rolls, I had him.

our long first gear and low axle ratio will pull a lot of cars. G8 GT's will shift up before me every time and they drop back 1/4-1/2 car length when they upshift to second. Once we get into our second gear, they will get it slowly back, but on the street that usually means a ricer fly-by as I have leveled of at cruising speed by then.

Our cars are not as quick or as fast as G8GT's - equally driven.
Here's a vid of when my brothers G8GT was stock, and I had a few mods.
He was giving me 1/2 carlength up and letting me get the hit. He hit the limiter in 1st and still caught up pretty easily.
