We already have the proper crankshaft, so we would need to have our blocks resleeved and bored .120" in order to have a 5.7L or a 3.9" bore.
Or we could just use our crank and front accessory drive setup, mounts, and all other LS4 related equipment (sensors and b.s) with this adapter plate mounted to a ls1, ls6, ls2 block.

This is the motor plate that gets the LS1, LS6, L33, LM7, LQ4, LQ9, or any other GEN 3 and GEN 4 engine mated to the best automatic transmission today. The 4T65eHD from the Grand Prix, and other nice GM cars. There are bolts provided in 2 special holes, and one crankshaft to torque converter bushing not pictured at this time.

NEW GM Ls6 short block: 2200.00

Using all of the LS6 parts on a 5.3 should put us at about 375 Crankshaft hp. pistons, cam, valve train, intake, tb, maf, and DT headers. Resleeving costs about 2500

Btw, he is the only person who makes those adapter plates. He also has one for the LS4 to 6T75.

what i want to know is why gm shortened the crank instead of finding the space elsewhere i mean 3mm on one side 13 on the other thats like 5/8 of an inch
that engine swap might not be too expensive you can reuse our heads coils exhaust manis (or headers) really all you need is a shortblock and be ready to use an ls4 crank

I think the reasoning behind shortening the crank wasn't so much so the engine would fit better, but the accessory drive would fit better.
As it is now that crank bolt is darn near impossible to take out.
Remember the green/blue/black 98-03 body style Grand Prix that someone swapped an LS1 into....might want to look there for pictures...I think that person bought the prototype LS4 engine and used it for that car.

I am looking into stroking the engine out. I was going to bore but you need to take the sleeves out, bore it, than re sleeve it and its not at all worth the money it would cost. Prolly would cost more to do that than just buy a turbo kit.
The stroking is hard to do because of the shortened crank. I am thinking of machining an ls1 crank down. Than using forged rods and pistons.

I would think you could? Get the crank machined, and drill and tap the block for the fwd trans. The only thing I would worry about is hitting a water jacket. But hell I don’t know for sure never done it.
