I had my transmission out and the car on a lift when I installed my headers. It was a breeze. The hardest part was getting the oil dipstick out. That was a BITCH. Other than that it was no more than a 1/2 hr to 45 min. install. Having the trans. out of the way and the car on a lift made a HUGE difference.

Thanks guys... Keep'em coming!

So this flex section... Will that come with or do I need to get one?

I will start the penetration tomorrow... Ha...

Mike, that probably would make it a ton easier but I'm not going to pull the trans for some little ol headers lol... Thanks for the suggestion though

If I didn't replace my trans. at the same time I wouldn't have pulled the trans. do them either. Trust me I wasn't saying to pull the trans. I was just saying what I did. I am sure you'll have to work from up top to do yours. It shouldn't be that bad. Once the stock manis are gone it will make things alot easier. The stock mani's take up more room than the headers do.

Is there a jegs off the equivalent to the flex tube in the header whistle thread? I'm going to go ahead and put a cut out in in place of the cat... The o2 sensor in front.
Then I'm going to run it into the stock cat back for now... Do I want to do it all at 2.5 to stay consistent out of the header?

The header collector is a 3" od, not a 2.5. I used a 3" flex on the header collector and then welded a non-cat (lol...) and then a straight pipe to the rest of the cat-back. I used all 3" until the cat-back. Came out great. The headers made my exhaust sound more of a low rumble and took away some cabin drone. Makes me happy.

You'll be surprised on how good the stock exhause manifolds flow. When I took them off I couldn't believe it. They ARE pretty damn good from the factory. One of the best I have seen. The headers look alot better and have a tuned front and rear header collectors. I noticed more power and better sound. I also wrapped the flex in header wrap before I put the X-over on.

Thanks mike... That's kind if what I thought... Just wanted to make sure... So what flex did you use? I don't really want to wrap it since it is a daily driver in all 4 seasons of conditions

I only wrapped the flex on the X-over since it whistles. The header wrap got rid of some of the whistle. I didn't wrap the flex on the end of the collector under the car. I used a stainless steel flex from ZZperformance. Look on thier website under exhaust and they have various sizes.

Hey ak Man,
Well I was a little confused... Mike wrapped the crossover pipe (not the flex like I keep thinking).
From my random gatherings I've discovered that you should indeed change the flex pipe... it's about 4 pages into the header whistle thread.

There is a flex on the X-over that is the one I header wrapped. You can't miss it...
