Anyone Had A Custom Vector Dyno Tune?
I have been thinking about getting a custom dyno tune form vector motor sports for a while since I live pretty close. I emailed them and they quoted me 495 to get this done. I asked to remove rev limiter, increase shift points, and tune the motor. Has anyone had this done and does that sound like a good price?
Sounds like the average price for a reputable shop to do a dyno tune. The only other thing to ask about is the price of retunes.
BTW, car looks good. Definitely look into some lowering springs though. It'd be even more of a head turner.

Yeah that's pretty average. I went to a local guy here in Buffalo, but he was very reputable. He wanted $600 for 1 run on the dyno lol. Needless to say, I didn't get a tune from him. But Vector's a good name with a reputable company. As AG said, ask about retunes.
Thanks for the input guys. I only have a cold air intake on my car, and a deleted res but that doesnt really make a difference I dont think. Do you think I would notice much of a difference with a tune? I dont plan on making any mods anytime soon since I am in college and cant really put my money towards my car right now? One more thing sorry for all the questions, but if they raise my shift points what can this motor live to with stock springs in it? Thanks again sorry for the 20 questions in one post.

don't forget who your talking too HAHA
to be honest, a cold air will throw your tune off more than most mods will. You'll notice a difference, not huge but the shift points make the biggest difference. I swear I'm buying a dyno when I get my house....
It throws the maf off by altering the way the air enters it compared to the factory air box. Think about it, the air doesn't entire the sensor completely linear with the stock airbox, or even an aftermarket one for that matter. This alters how much air the computer "sees", throwing your tune off. The homemade airbox I made for my buddy and cousin was damn close to the factory GXP one.
too bad that Will never responds to anyone who inquires about purchasing a PCM from him......I emailed him 3 separate times telling him I had $ waiting to buy from him and I never once heard back from him....and I have heard multiple other people who have had the same experience as me...
