Quick rant
I may be getting another car soon, but it's a $600 daily, so I can finally tap into the potential of the LS4.
If you read this and agree, thank you.
1. Key Fobs and antennea replaced
2. 2 or 3 TPMS sensors replaced.
3. Defroster go out.
3. Power steering cooler line replaced.
4. Camshaft posistion sensor replaced.
5. Headlight replaced.
Think that is it. Guess that isn't too bad for almost 5 years and it was all under warranty. It's just a bitch taking it to the dealer.
I hear you though sometimes I get pissed off and just want to trade it in. It is a fun car to have as a DD though.
Oh yeah, and the ******** who ran a redlight and took the front bumper cover off and pulled the front end out of alignment, but that's insurance, not mtce.
After five years I was ready for something else as a DD, but still drive the GXP from time to time.
With all of the problems this car had from the start, I would have had a lemon claim had the car been at the dealer one more day by 18 months (or within whatever the range is for NYS Lemon Law).
To this day, stuff is still failing. DoD issues, been babying trans for years, p/s rear door does not open from the inside or out (requiring a interior gut job to even investigate the issue), trunk actuator failed, window switches going bad, just about everything Jabronie has had done and thensome...list goes on and on. Sure, a lot of these little things could be fixed with a little money here and there, but for even a 5 year old car, it shouldn't need it.
I love the car and what I've made of it visually, but I'll NEVER AGAIN be one of the first to buy like I did this time (purch. in 9/05). At 65k (mostly "spirited" city driving for the first 36k), she feels much older and is beginning to look her age (seriously needs a detailing). In the end, I love it...but would give her up in a heartbeat if I had an alternative.

Still, I feel this car is a ticking time bomb. So much so, that we bought a spare 10k mile transmssion that's just waiting until this one dies again.
Still, it's a nice, comfortable car to drive, though not very quick (compared to other stuff I've owned). And I definitely like the look. None of that, however, is worth the stress of worrying about what's gonna break next. It's important to us because our Impala sees about 35k miles a year.
