DOD can be removed..

Careful now. Start modding and you'll have traction issues at 20, and there are a LOT of FWD cars that are quicker than us in stock form and a WHOLE LOT more if you start modifying them.

mod for mod the other RWD v8 should pull you.

To beating ANY FWD your getting your hopes up. You will never beat them all. I myself have lost to a few and I give them all teh respect they deserve.

They are nice DD. Just dont see the point in trying to make one a drag car or any race car for that matter.

On a side nope I wish we got the lumina here. Best looking LS4 IMO

I work for Hertz and enjoy it when we get the Impala SS, V6 Malibu, and used to get the V6 Aura. They are fun to drive and have respectable power imo.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but the Lumina sold by Chevy in the middle east is RWD and has similar drivetrain options to the G8, to which it is directly related.

The LS4 was US-only and exclusive to the w-body.

I see what you're saying, Mike, but to go as fast (or faster) as a moderate bolt-on F-body (mid 12's) the LS4 needs a turbo system or spray. It's one hell of a lot easier (and cheaper) to go faster in an LS1 F-body, though. I mean, the "free" mods are worth .2 to .3 and a couple of MPH in the quarter.

Not trying to hate on our LS4s, but having owned a pair of LS1s and the Impala, I can tell you the difference is marked.

I've heard rumors of two LS4 cars in the 10's and one in the 9's. I doubt that was stock bottom end, and just rumors mind you. But any way any thing can be made fast and there is always someone faster.
As far as DD go, best damn DD I've ever owned.
And fwd, can't stand it. But its my car and I love it.

Ok I'm not saying all cars but around my neck of the woods there isn't to much that has gave me much competion maybe a turbo cobalt was bout it but all I'm saying I'm not gunna throw my car again a straight drag car because that's not wat it is. As far as the traction issues go trust me I know wat your saying but I owned the car for almost five years now and drive it a lot . I think I got the hang of the traction control . All I'm saying for a dd its not bad at all I'm happy wit it

I used to pull SC'd 2V Mustangs in my bolt on 2000 LS1 Z. They do respond to mods (gear, especially) but they're slow to begin with.

I used to beat stock 4.6's in my old 3.8(L) Grand Prix GT. Granted the GT was a high 13 second car but still. I know an 05 - 06 GTO that is thinking quite differently about LS4's as we speak.

Running 9s and 10s...stock longblock? That's either one hell of a shot or a decent amount of boost. I'm not gonna be the guy that makes an *** out of himself to prove a point on the internet, but if you have those 9 and 10 second 2v runs on video, I'd love to see them. Because that's pretty far fetched for a stock internal car.

I am undefeated against 2v mustangs and I believe our cars give stockish 3v mustangs a pretty decent run for their money. The 2v's aren't impressive at all. My good friend has one and went pretty much mod for mod with me at the same time and there was no point where I lost. He gave up and bought a LS1 T/A.

Agreed. They're probably limited to about 125 hp via FI. The 2v here that I was rivaled with for the longest time had full bolt-ons, ported intake/TB, and gears running dead even with me when I was cutout, catless DP and a tune. He finally sprayed it and beat me.

gutting and suspension perfectly dialed in go a LONG way. One is a paxton one is a decent shot that goes through a motor every 2-3 months from blowing them. Point being they still run the time.

I will see if I can find them
