Default 07 GP Headlights going out randomly

We have an 07 N/A Grand Prix that my mother drives. She has been having problems with the Headlights randomly going out while she is driving. She took it to the Dealer and they could not get them to fail though they replaced all the headlights and fuses. She picked it up and on the way home they started cutting out again, she took it back and once again, they called her to say they were working fine.

Shes replaced all the fuses and relays and headlights and is still having the problem. When the lights fail turning the switch off and on has no affect, switching to Auto or Manual has no effect. When the lights go out, Hi and low Beams are both dead. I drove the car for two years with no problems before she go it. Anybody got an idea as to what this could be? Thanks.

since it happens with the switch in either position, I would go ahead and say she has a grounding problem. I do not have any idea where all the grounds are on her car, but I am sure you can locate or find out where most of them are and make sure they are in good condition and properly secured. A loose ground wire can cause all sorts of difficult intermittent problems.

The lights seem to be the only thing affected, if the light sensor in the dash was bad would it cause this?

my stepdads lights go off on his impala at random but only when the high beams are on? they come back on once you switch to low beams and then back to high beams. one time the turn signals and the four ways stopped at the same time. i have not been able to find the problem. a buddy of mine has a 01' monte with the same problem. i know this doesnt help but its not just the GP guys

She mentioned that one time she hit the horn and they came back on, but it only worked once, mike690003 that thread looks interesting, 70 bucks for a F$%% relay, Looks like that could be the culprit
